BeraRoyale — On-Chain Trading Game Built with Solidity & Web3

Predict the Market. Play On-Chain. No Middlemen.

BeraRoyale is an on-chain trading game where players use HONEY tokens to bet on whether asset prices like BTC and BERA will go UP or DOWN — with every game outcome settled trustlessly through smart contracts instead of a backend server.

Project Overview

BeraRoyale takes a familiar idea — predicting whether a price goes up or down — and removes the trust problem most prediction games have. Instead of a backend deciding who wins, every bet, price check, and payout happens through smart contracts on-chain. Players deposit HONEY tokens and predict short-term price movement on assets like BTC and BERA. There's no house controlling outcomes behind the scenes; the contract logic and oracle price feeds handle that, which was the whole point of building it this way.

Key Features

  • Smart contract-powered UP/DOWN game modes with on-chain execution
  • Live price predictions tied directly to real market data via oracle feeds
  • HONEY token deposits, gameplay, and payouts handled entirely on-chain
  • Full game lifecycle management, from round creation to settlement
  • A responsive web interface designed to feel like trading, not a typical game UI

Technical Implementation

The smart contracts were written in Solidity and deployed on EVM-compatible infrastructure, with oracle-based price feeds feeding live market data into the contract logic for fair, verifiable price resolution. The frontend runs on Next.js and React, connected to the contracts through Web3 libraries. One of the trickier parts was settlement — on-chain operations cost gas, so settlement logic had to be optimized to keep transactions efficient without compromising the fairness of how rounds resolved.

Challenges & Solutions

The biggest challenge was making sure price resolution couldn't be gamed or tampered with — we built the contract flows around verifiable oracle price inputs rather than any single trusted source. On-chain settlement also needed to stay cheap and fast, so we trimmed expensive operations out of the settlement path wherever possible. Blockchain transactions aren't instant, which creates an awkward UX problem for a game — players need to know what's happening while a transaction confirms. We solved this with clear pending, success, and failure states in the UI so the wait never feels like the app is broken.

Results & Impact

BeraRoyale shipped as a fully functional on-chain trading game with real-time market-based gameplay — not a simulation or a mocked-up demo, but actual smart contracts handling actual settlements. Just as important, the architecture was built to scale: the same contract foundation can support additional game modes down the line without a rebuild from scratch.
